On my final day in Concepcion, Daniel Guzman (our In-Country Director) and I held a workshop for our teen reading promoters. I hadn’t worked with them as a group since February and it was so gratifying to see them speaking up more, acting as a group rather than six individuals, expressing their appreciation for the program AND making demands of it (us)!
Daniel Guzman and his car — not Reading Village’s, though he took the liberty of putting our logo in the back window 🙂 “Transforming Lives Through Literacy”
Our reading promoters and I discussing what to consider when planning their reading activities.

Johana, who recently joined the group voluntarily without receiving a scholarship (!), couldn’t make it to Saturday’s workshop. We found her harvesting onions with her family.
When new books arrive the teens dive in eager for new ideas and materials for their activities.
