Employment & Volunteering
This energetic crew is creative, resourceful, and intrepid. With backgrounds in business, education, and health we share a belief that lives are better with books. If you share our passion and want to be involved, please contact our Executive Director, Linda Smith, at linda@readingvillage.org. Employment opportunities will be posted here as they become available, but we’re always looking for interns, volunteers and people interested in joining us on our twice annual service learning trips so don’t hesitate to reach out and tell us why you’re the perfect fit for our growing, international organization.
Learning Journeys
Visiting our program sites and meeting our inspiring teen reading promoters is the best way to understand Reading Village’s vision for a cultural of literacy. Whether you’re eighteen or eighty, there’s something to learn from Guatemala. For eight days you will visit the colonial town of Antigua, explore the ancient Mayan ruins of Iximché, and tour a coffee cooperative on Lake Atitlán. What’s more, traveling with our reading promoters and program staff, you will get to know our teens personally, the challenges they face, and the impact they have. You’ll visit their homes, share a meal, and have an authentic experience of Mayan traditions and rural life.
