Reading Village is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. We are a small operation with very big ambitions. As a growing international organization with staff in the United States and Guatemala, we pride ourselves on financial transparency and accountability to our donors. Our monitoring and evaluation programs are being refined so that we can track every dollar you donate and every book we buy. With every year of growth and evolution we strive to improve our efficiency and maximize our effectiveness. To that end, we promise to continue to decrease our overhead and increase the percentage of each donation that goes directly into our programs.

2012 Annual Report

Reading Village had an exciting year in 2012. Not only did we expand into three communities and reach a record-breaking 10,000 children, but our scholars gave back in ways we had only dreamed of. In 2012, a group of our teen reading promoters opened their community’s very first library. Living the culture of literacy that we worked together to create, these student exemplified the slow and sustainable change that Reading Village strives to cultivate from the inside out.
